Over a third of kids aged 15 have drank, and 68% of 12th graders have consumed alcohol. marijuana is the most popular and easily accessible drug.Īlcohol use has risen amongst teens as well. I believe the data shows that drug use has (thankfully) declined, but the numbers are still high for teens involved in drug use, with nearly a quarter of Americans teens using at least one type of illicit drug. Some schools are notorious for the amount of drug trafficking that is pulling these young teens in. When I asked my family member about it, they said that drugs are rampant in some of the schools around where they live. There was also a school close by to where I grew up that had two young teens that were stabbed while trying to partake in a drug deal. ![]() The overall average age that people lose their virginity is 17, with 90% of the American population having lost their virginity by the age of 22. Maybe it’s the mom in me, but it breaks me heart that so many young kids move into this so fast. it’s estimated that 10% of teens have sex before they turn 15, which may seem small, but 1 out of every 10 kids under 15 have had sex. I have close family that is still in high school and I’ve heard that many 13/14 year olds have already had sex. I am honestly just curious and interested what others have to say.ĭo you think we are making kids grow up too fast? Girls that are 13 are often dressing/acting like they’re 20. Now, please bare with me and don’t jump into the “not your child, not your business” approach.
